Pick and Avoid NLC Fall Open Playoffs '20

Pick and Avoid: Playoffs NLC ’20

Important Contest Updates:

  • Lineups lock at the start of the first Game; 9am PT on 11/12
  • We take the Top 3 scores of each Player/Team across all Playoff games, so be careful because if a team gets swept in Quarterfinals they only will have 2 scores! (Will not receive a 3rd score)
  • Not sure how to set a Lineup? Click Here!

The two most important questions when building your E1 Fantasy Lineup: Who do I pick? Who do I not pick? Well we heard you mumbling these questions to yourself and are giving you some help. Who to avoid is just as important as to who you flock towards as you need to make sure your whole lineup is set to pop-off, from Top to Team. We are giving you one player/team from each position to target and another one to run as far away from as you possibly can. Choose wisely!

Top Lane

Pick

Dusty Player

Stenbosse had the best fantasy profile of any Top Laner here coming into Groups as he was the only Top Laner averaging 4+ Kills and 6+ Assists per game. He teased the upside with the 42.9 point game on Gangplank, but otherwise wasn’t challenged enough to rack up the points. With elimination on the line, I expect to see Stenbosse’s best version to come out.

Avoid

Barrage Player

Doxy - Barrage $270,000 (vs Tricked)

Nothing against Doxy here, but if you are going to spend up for a Barrage player, you don’t want it to be in the Top Lane. Every other Barrage option has shown so much more upside, as well as the other Top Laners next to Doxy in price. Ok so I guess I can’t say ‘nothing against Doxy’…

LoL Jungler Icon

Jungle

Pick

UniQ Player

You can’t go wrong with taking the Jungler of the team that wins the bloodiest series of the slate. UniQ has to be feeling great right now and is bringing that momentum into a very fast-paced and fantasy-friendly matchup with ENCE. Even if UniQ gets bounced by Barrage in the 2nd round, the scores from this 1st series should be plenty for your lineup.

Avoid

Dusty Player

Cboi - Dusty $230,000 (vs Viking Esports)

Everybody on Dusty absolutely popped off last week… except Cboi. He is just very uninvolved in fights, not racking up the Kill or Assist numbers that you see every other Jungler able to find. Look elsewhere on Dusty for value.

LoL Mid Lane Icon

Mid Lane

Pick

Barrage Player

What did I tell you? Sencux is absolutely smurfing right now. In his 4 wins, he had at least 7 Kills and 36 points in all 4. He is clearly the best player in this tournament, and he is a no brainer pick if you have the money. Easy money.

Avoid

Twiizt - NVision $270,000 (vs Absolved)

Your Mid Laner needs to have massive scoring upside, which revolves around getting Kills. With 3 of his 5 Games Played resulting in 2 or less Kills, I am looking to avoid Twiizt in favor of somebody I can see leading their team in Kills.

LoL bot lane icon

Bot Lane

Pick

Dusty Player

I wasn’t going to include Hoiz in this article, but I feel contractually obligated to write about anybody that has 2 games of 50+ points in the same weekend, one of which resulted in a weekend high 68.3 points. I mean Hoiz got 35 Kills in the 3 game series that clinched Dusty’s spot in the playoffs. I shouldn’t need to say more than that… so I won’t.

Avoid

Kadaver - NVISION $280,000 (vs Absolved)

Touching 30 points in a game is nice and all, but when that feels more like your ceiling than your average, it isn’t as cute. Your Bot Laner needs to be getting more than 4 Kills a game, and Kadaver is one of the few options that hasn’t made the ability to do that clear.

LoL Support Icon

Support

Pick

UniQ Player

Baloo won 4 games last week. In each of those 4 wins he had 12+ Assists, resulting in 20+ Points in all of them. Consistency, upside, team involvement, Baloo is the total package.

Avoid

Viking Player

Eski - Viking Esports $100,000 (vs Dusty)

I absolutely love Eski’s fantasy profile, but all that excitement went down the drain after seeing him benched in favor of Accziz in VK’s first series. The risk of that happening again scares me off completely.

Team

Pick

Yeah, this one is pretty straight forward. Pick the team that is expected to win 6 games on their way to the Championship. Don’t need any fancy stats to back this one up!

Avoid

Tricked Team Logo

Tricked $180,000 (vs Barrage)

Yeah this series is not going to end well for Tricked. I doubt they will even get to see a Game 3…
