What do you mean by 'Best and Worst Performers'?
Glad you asked, we review players from each role that racked up those fantasy points and shame those who flopped (in a nice way). This article aims to give you player insight into the past week matches because we know you may not watch every single second of the LCS and LEC like we do! This time we’ll be looking at the LoL Fantasy Best and Worst Performers Week 8 Spring 2020.
Keep in mind that it’s based on their salary, expected performance and how they actually performed.
Discussion: Week 8 was certainly one to write home about for the top side of Schalke 04’s roster. Odoamne had a decent Maokai game vs Misfits, but against Vitality the following day, he popped off on Jayce, going 5-1-9 with 346 CS. Anyone that was hesitant to pick up S04 players when they saw that they were against Misfits are kicking themselves right now, because 3/5 Schalke 04 players had incredible value.
Discussion: Hauntzer and the Golden Guardians were running out of time to prove themselves going into Week 8, and they blew it. They weren’t favored versus TSM, but many thought that their match versus the struggling TL would be much closer. Haunzter in particular took a beating, not picking up a single kill or assist in both matches, with his only positive points coming from his CS.
Discussion: Akaadian was perhaps the most valuable player this week in terms of cost vs points. Despite going 1-1, his 4-2-10 Pantheon game versus CLG (paired with a decent Lee Sin game in their loss against EG) were enough to get him into the top 5 scoring junglers of the LoL Fantasy Best and Worst Performers Week 8 Spring 2020.
Discussion: What should have been a slam dunk weekend for Misfits turned out to be more of what we expected from them in the beginning of the split. The normally well fed Razork was famished in both games, with a combined 3 kills, 9 deaths, and 4 assists. The only thing consistent about Razork this split is how often he subverts expectations, when you think he’ll do bad he pops off, and when you think he’ll do good, he runs it down.
Team: Schalke 04
Discussion: Abbedagge’s trend of scoring big continues for yet another week, where he sported an insane combined KDA of 14-1-11. He even managed to score higher than Perkz, who had his own 2-0 in Week 8. 250K is pretty expensive, so Abbedagge wasn’t necessarily a bargain, but normally anyone scoring over 60 points costs over 300K.
Discussion: As mentioned before, Misfits had a really disappointing Week 8, and Febiven certainly bared a large portion of the burden for that disappointment. Both matches were decided rather quickly, so there were no points to be had from the back and forth fighting present in a closer game.
Discussion: This week was (on paper) the hardest week for 100T in the second round robin, and they came out of it looking rather promising. Cody Sun managed to stand his ground against Cloud9, going 2-2-1 in that loss. Then against Flyquest, he absolutely popped off, going 5-2-12 on Aphelios, earning him a spot near the top of the charts despite only costing $230,000.
Discussion: Another worst performer, another Misfits player. Bvoy was the biggest bomb of Week 8, being one of the most expensive players going in, and ending up scoring the lowest out of anyone else in his position. His combined KDA of 1-4-2 speaks for itself.
Discussion: Kaiser’s Week 8 was absolutely flawless, indicated by his combined KDA of 1-0-23. His unexpectedly high placing can be partially explained by MAD doing the fasting Senna strategy, allowing Kaiser to take CS and be more capable of generating kills by himself.
Discussion: The only reason Denyk isn’t here instead of Tore is only because Tore manged to score negative points. Also just for the sake of diversity in these ratings, Tore took the spot as the worst performing support of Week 8. With a combined 12 deaths and only 7 assists, it’s clear to see how he was able to score below 0 points, actually harming anyone that was unfortunate enough to believe in him.
Discussion: Both of MAD’s wins in Week 8 were clean and objective focused. They got first tower in both games, all 11 towers in both games, at least 4 dragons in both games, and at least 1 baron in both games.
Discussion: Surpirse surprise, the team with the most worst performers was also the worst team.
