Best Value Players: Week 8

Best Values? What is that?

Every option you are presented to fill your lineup has their own inherent value that is built into their Salary. In a perfect LoL world, the highest priced player would score the most and the cheapest would score the least. But we don’t live in a LoL world where everything makes sense, just ask Team Liquid. So we want the players that are going to return EXTRA VALUE for us. We want to find the 5th most expensive Top Laner that will end the week at #1, or the Mid priced that finishes top 5 for the LoL Fantasy Best Value Players Week 8 Spring 2020.

How Does it Work?

We find players that are both cost effective and likely to score a higher than expected number of points over the weekend’s matches. We don’t only give the best value, we give you the best value by role for both the LEC and LCS! Why? Because we love you, that’s why.

Fantasy LoL best value players LEC and LCS

TOP LANE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Dan Dan (Misfits)

Cost: $280,000

Opponents: S04, MAD

Reasoning: As a former #1 Top laner on the week, Dan Dan is back to being undervalued. Misfits were humbled in a harsh way over the last few weeks, but you would be crazy to think that they have fallen behind S04 or MAD in skills level. Dan Dan is The Boss of playing Sett and can put up big numbers on the champ.

LCS

Player: Kumo (Evil Geniuses)

Cost: $230,000

Opponents: TL & DIG

Reasoning: Speaking of #1 Top laner upside, Week 7 Kumo is the Kumo we wanted! Racked up 12 kills with 0 deaths over a weekend and looked like that Top 5 fantasy options that he was with C9 in ‘19. EG is suuuuper frustrating with inconsistency, but Kumo just proved that he has #1 Top laner upside each week.

JUNGLE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Xerxe (Origen)

Cost: $340,000

Opponents: VIT & SK

Reasoning: People need to start showing Xerxe more respect. At first glance, it seems like Blaber/Jankos are a Jungler tier of their own, but Xerxe has the talent to hang with them and this week has the schedule to outperform them both.

LCS

Player: Akaadian (Dignitas)

Cost: $180,000

Opponents: CLG & EG

Reasoning: Akaadian should cost more here. He has a capable supporting cast and has already shown he can massively outproduce a $180k price tag. However, the fact that is is just Game 3 of his LCS season subdues his price, which creates a nice opportunity for you!

MID LANE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Nukeduck (Origen)

Cost: $270,000

Opponents: VIT & SK

Reasoning: So yeah, the week of the battle atop the LEC standings came out with Origen looking like the 3rd best team in the LEC. But for fantasy, we don’t worry about how they relate in the overall standings, just how they relate to their opponents! And this week is a lopsided comparison in favor of OG.

LCS

Player: Bjergsen (Team SoloMid)

Cost: $300,000

Opponents: IMT & GG

Reasoning: Well… TSM’s plan of reclaiming the #2 LCS seed has become very clear; Win through Bjergsen. His Week 7 performance was arguably the most dominant weekend we have seen from an LCS player this split. If he keeps that momentum going into weaker opponents this week, his owners will be rewarded handsomely.

BOT LANE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Innaxe (FC Schalke 04)

Cost: $270,000

Opponents: MSF & VIT

Reasoning: Is Innaxe aware of the fact that S04 is eliminated from playoffs? If he isn’t, please nobody tell him! He is playing like a man on a mission, completely erasing memories of the Forg1ven experiment from LEC fans’ minds.

LCS

Player: Kobbe (Team SoloMid)

Cost: $310,000

Opponents: TL & DIG

Reasoning: Kobbe showed up in a major way in Week 7, just as TSM hoped when they signed him. The even more encouraging detail though, is that he showed he was able to coexist with Bjergsen extremely well from a fantasy perspective, as they both finished top 3 at their position. The 2 fearless leaders of TSM have them on the right track now.

SUPPORT: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Dreams (FC Schalke 04)

Cost: $120,000

Opponents: MSF & VIT

Reasoning: Scroll up and reread all the pleasant things I said about Innaxe’s recent performances. Now come back and remind yourself that Dreams is in lane with Innaxe and gets assists for all those kills! AND he saves you even more money. I like that.

LCS

Player: Biofrost (Team SoloMid)

Cost: $210,000

Opponents: IMT & GG

Reasoning: Bjergsen and Kobbe may be the leaders of TSM, both in preparation and in kills, but Biofrost is a lethal force constantly putting those two in a successful spot. His ups and downs have lined up with those of TSM as a whole, so as TSM is trending up again, so is Biofrost.

TEAM: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Misfits

Cost: $280,000

Opponents: S04 & MAD

Reasoning: The team that marks the bottom of the ‘elite’ tier of the LEC also marks the bottom of fantasy options that I see as heavily favored 2-0’s. The MAD matchup can make you sweat a little, but I see Misfits regaining their hot-streak form.

LCS

Player: Counter Logic Gaming

Cost: $210,000

Opponents: DIG & C9

Reasoning: The Notorious P.O.B. has given this team a new outlook on life, and they are playing inspired. I don’t expect them to beat C9 (or even come close to doing so) but  being able to grab a cheap team that can be expected to get you one fruitful win has lots of value.
