Best Value Players: Week 7

Best Values? What is that?

Every option you are presented to fill your lineup has their own inherent value that is built into their Salary. In a perfect LoL world, the highest priced player would score the most and the cheapest would score the least. But we don’t live in a LoL world where everything makes sense, just ask Team Liquid. So we want the players that are going to return EXTRA VALUE for us. We want to find the 5th most expensive Top Laner that will end the week at #1, or the Mid priced that finishes top 5.

How Does it Work?

We find players that are both cost effective and likely to score a higher than expected number of points over the weekend’s matches. We don’t only give the best value, we give you the best value by role for both the LEC and LCS! Why? Because we love you, that’s why.

TOP LANE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Finn (Rogue)

Cost: $260,000

Opponents: VIT & MAD

Reasoning: We learned a lot about Rogue in Week 6. For starters, they are not as good as Origen, but we already knew that. The more important takeaway; they need Finn to play a large role to win. In their win against Excel, Finn was involved in 15 of the 16 kills. Can’t get much better than that.

LCS

Player: Ssumday (100 Thieves)

Cost: $270,000

Opponents: DIG & IMT

Reasoning: The week where Ssumday finally puts 2 games together will be the week where I finish first. Every week, Ssumday pops off in one game and then chills out in the second. This week’s schedule is the chance for him to string together two strong performances.

JUNGLE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Razork (Misfits)

Cost: $250,000

Opponents: XL & OG

Reasoning: Razork has built an extremely strong case for Rookie of the Split, even through Misfits recent struggles. A strong possibility of losing to Origen may limit his ceiling, but Razork is going to produce as long as Misfits does.

LCS

Player: Meteos (100 Thieves)

Cost: $210,000

Opponents: DIG & IMT

Reasoning: After scoring 37.68 points in Game 1 of Week 6, Meteos owners were jumping for joy! Well Game 2 added a whole nother 0.1 points to that total… If he can string together two good games, he has top 5 upside.

MID LANE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Humanoid (MAD Lions)

Cost: $280,000

Opponents: S04 & RGE

Reasoning: Finishing Week 6 just outside of the top 5 among mids, Humanoid has continually shown why MAD chose to build around him. It has been an up and down season for MAD in the standings, but this week should be an ‘up.’

LCS

Player: PowerOfEvil (Flyquest)

Cost: $290,000

Opponents: EG & TSM

Reasoning: POE has completely transformed his game compared to his CLG days and FLY is benefitting from it in a major way. Now the FLY has the chance to prove they are the 2nd best team in the LCS, I expect them to be much more motivated than Free-SM this week.

BOT LANE: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Carzzy (MAD Lions)

Cost: $320,000

Opponents: S04 & RGE

Reasoning: You see a LOT of stud names when you look at the $300k+ bot laners available. Carzzy may not seem to fit in at first, but his stats say otherwise. MAD has a realistic shot at a 2-0 week, but will need to earn it, which will require Carzzy to rack up points.

LCS

Player: Apollo (Immortals)

Cost: $210,000

Opponents: 100 & TL

Reasoning: It is Week 7 and we are all psyched for an Apollo vs Tactical matchup in the bot lane! As crazy as it sounds, this matchup can produce some BIG fantasy numbers. Unfortunately Apollo wasn’t able to be selected in Week 6, because he earned an amazing 10/1/6 line in his second game.

SUPPORT: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Destiny (Origen)

Cost: $220,000

Opponents: G2 & MSF

Reasoning: The top of the LEC is battling it out this week. Who do you have coming out in 2nd? Well OG gets to face off this week against both the teams that have recently fallen from grace. Destiny and lane buddy Upset will be looking to kick them while they are down.

LCS

Player: CoreJJ (Team Liquid)

Cost: $210,000

Opponents: CLG & IMT

Reasoning: I guess the TL bot lane is fixed now…? DL issues aside, CoreJJ’s talent shouldn’t be doubted. How did he do in Week 6 after the bot lane change? Zero deaths, 17 Assists. That’s my guy right there.

TEAM: BEST VALUE

LEC

Player: Misfits

Cost: $260,000

Opponents: XL & OG

Reasoning: Once the hottest team in the LEC, Misfits got dealt a reality check. Even through the recent struggles, do you think they are outside the top 4 of the LEC? Because that is how they are priced. Trust your gut (but only if it is correct).

LCS

Player: 100 Thieves

Cost: $210,000

Opponents: DIG & IMT

Reasoning: You see that new pop-up retail shop? Yeah that was dope. Oh, wait, yeah LoL! Hopefully the 100T are feeling smaggy in some new gear and are ready to take advantage of a favorable schedule. They have shown flashes of talent, but haven’t been able to go back-to-back with it in a weekend. Let’s hope this is the one.
