Best and Worst Performers: Week 6

What do you mean by 'Best and Worst Performers'?

Glad you asked, we review players from each role that racked up those fantasy points and shame those who flopped (in a nice way). This article aims to give you player insight into the past week matches because we know you may not watch every single second of the LCS and LEC like we do! Keep in mind that it’s based on their salary, expected performance and how they actually performed. With all that said, here are the LoL Fantasy Best and Worst Performers Week 6 Spring 2020.

TOP LANE

Team: Counter Logic Gaming

Cost: $170,000

Points: 49.51

Discussion: Week 6 was huge for every member of CLG, so Ruin will be the first but certainly not last CLG member earning a top performer spot. It all started with their dominate upset win over TSM on Saturday, followed by an absolute blood-bath of a match against Immortals on Monday Night League. Despite ultimately losing the Immortals match, the game was so back and forth that the constant fighting ended up netting big points for players of both teams. In both games, Ruin had impressive KDAs, and for only costing $170,000, he had insane value.

Honorable Mentions:

Team: Team SoloMid

Cost: $270,000

Points: 8.79

Discussion: In Week 6, TSM failed to carry any momentum they gained from a 2-0 Week 5 with them and they fell flat, translating into poor performances from most of their players. Across the entire weekend, Broken Blade only managed to pick up 2 kills and 2 assists, with most of his points coming from CS. His Kayle against Team Liquid never got off the ground, and his Mordekaiser was rendered useless against CLG’s mostly ranged composition. This is Broken Blade’s worst performance in weeks, and is a disappointment for anyone who hoped to cash in on TSM’s recent resurgence.

Honorable Mentions:

JUNGLE

Team: 100 Thieves

Cost: $170,000

Points: 37.78

Discussion: Meteos’ performance in Week 6 was defined mainly by his win over Evil Geniuses on Saturday where he finished the game 7-3-11 with 159 CS. This game alone netted him 37.68 points, which ended up being 99% of his total points scored on the weekend. Team Liquid were so swift in their victory over 100T the following day that Meteos almost lost points as a result of that game. But that single game against EG was enough to get Meteos into the top 5 highest scoring junglers while only costing $170,000.

Honorable Mentions:

Team: Team SoloMid

Cost: $240,000

Points: 8.09

Discussion: Continuing the trend of under performers on TSM in Week 6 is none other than Dardoch. He didn’t get a single kill in either game, and only managed to be a part of 4 kills otherwise, which was the main contributor to his single digit score for the week.

Honorable Mentions:

MID LANE

Team: Counter Logic Gaming

Cost: $160,000

Points: 63.32

Discussion: When it comes to the LoL Fantasy Best and Worst Performers Week 6 Spring 2020, The Notorious P.O.B  was the best by far, coming out of his hiatus from LCS to dumpster TSM and be the second highest scoring mid. Despite ultimately going 1-1 on the week, a perfect KDA against TSM and a positive KDA with over 12 assists against Immortals made for huge points that rivaled even the likes of Perkz on G2.

Honorable Mentions:

Team: Team SoloMid

Cost: $300,000

Points: 10.70

Discussion: Bjergsen’s Maokai game versus TL where he finished 1-3-0 was really all anyone needed to see to determine his performance this weekend. TSM had seemingly no agency in either of their games, and it resulted in poor performances all across the board for a team that seemed to be on the upswing coming into Week 6.

Honorable Mentions:

BOT LANE

Team: Counter Logic Gaming

Cost: $180,000

Points: 65.77

Discussion: Another best performer spot, and another CLG member. Ever since the beginning of the split, Stixxay’s salary has steadily decreased as CLG suffered loss after loss. This set Stixxay up for a gigantic Week 6, being the second highest scoring bot laner while being the second cheapest. For the same reasons as his teammates (dominate TSM victory, and back and forth loss to IMT), Stixxay had his best weekend of the split by far.

Honorable Mentions:

Team: Team SoloMid

Cost: $300,000

Points: 19.26

Discussion: I’d really like to have someone else taking up all of these worst performer spots, but TSM did so incredibly bad given all of their salaries that it’s impossible to put anyone else here in good conscious. With a salary of $300,000, scoring under 20 points on a week where you’re expected to go at least 1-1 is unacceptable. Kobbe actually scored the most out of any of his teammates, which could be a relief to anyone who only drafted him instead of any other TSM players, but that being a relief is indicative of how badly TSM performed in Week 6.

Honorable Mentions:

  • GG FBI $260,000: 19.38 points.

SUPPORT

Team: Counter Logic Gaming

Cost: $110,000

Points: 38.34

Discussion: Naturally, given that a CLG player occupies almost every other best performer spot, Smoothie will round that out as the support that picked up all of the assists on the kills that got his teammates into those best performer spots.

Honorable Mentions:

Team: Team SoloMid

Cost: $210,000

Points: 2.80

Discussion: Also natrually, given that a TSM player occupies every other worst performer spot, Biofrost will logically follow given that his team generated very few kills, and Biofrost often was the sacrificial lamb in their games. By only scoring two points, there would have been no noticeable difference between having Biofrost and having no support at all. Out of all the LoL Fantasy Best and Worst Performers Week 6 Spring 2020, TSM was by far the most disappointing as a team and individually.

Honorable Mentions:

  • None this week, Biofrost was simply the worst.

TEAM

Cost: $160,000

Points: 47

Discussion: Sometimes, even if a team has the highest scoring players in each position, they fall short when it comes to points scored as a team. This was most definitely not the case for CLG, scoring 47 points on a week where many expected them to go 0-2. They could have scored even higher had they won their match versus Immortals on Monday Night League, but even without that they were the best performer given their cheap $160,000 salary.

Honorable Mentions:

Cost: $290,000

Points: 18

Discussion: Finally, the last worst performer spot goes to none other than TSM as a whole. Who would have guessed that going 0-2, securing only 3 turrets and no barons would lead to a sub 20 point week? Pretty much anyone could have guessed that actually, it’s quite easy to see that losing convincingly warrants a bottom 3 performance, and that’s exactly what happened with TSM in Week 6.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Dignitas $150,000: 12 points.
