LCS Off-Season Roster Changes for 2022

After an LCS year filled with roster changes and drama, how could the offseason be any different? After North America’s relatively respectable showing at Worlds 2021, with Cloud9 making it out of groups, Team Liquid being one game from doing the same, and 100 Thieves putting up a 3-3 record, NA teams are looking to retool their rosters in hopes of progressing further.

Dignitas sign former SK Gaming mid laner Ersin “Blue” Gören as their new mid laner.

TSM sign Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei as their new head coach. This signing is accompanied by TSM’s signing of former FPX support Wei “Shenyi” Zi-Jie and LDL mid Zhu “Keaiduo” Xiong to the roster.

Cloud9 sign Nick “LS” De Cesare as their head coach. LS, aka “Low Standards”, is a commentator for the LCK that is often ridiculed for his annoying personality and questionable game knowledge. He is specifically known for his Annie and Tahm “Thomas” Kench two-trick-pony in low platinum solo-queue

Immortals sign Gabriel “Invert” Zoltan-Johan as their new head coach and re-sign Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett as their assistant coach.

Team Liquid sign former TSM franchise player Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg as their starting mid laner. This is Bjergsen’s first new team since 2014.

Kacper “Inspired” Słoma joins Evil Geniuses as their starting jungler. With his transfer to North America and Rekkles playing in the LFL, neither of the 2021 LEC regular season MVPs are playing in the LEC in 2022.

Kim “River” Dong-woo joins Dignitas as their starting LCS jungler. River was the jungler for PSG Talon in PCS.

C9 Signs Summit, Winsome, Berserk

Cloud9 signs Park “Summit” Woo-tae, Kim “Beserker” Min-cheol, and Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon to their starting roster. Because Winsome was born and grew up in NA, he has residency, making it possible for Cloud9 to field all 3 Korean players at once.
