Whether you are playing to win the F2P Cup, 1v1 Challenge, or taking on a Squad Battle, we all are after the W. We may even make some money on the way. So let’s take a look and see which players should be in your quarantine bubble and which players you should socially distance from this week.
- SLEEPER: A medium-to-low priced player that is set up well to shock the world (in a good way)
- BREAKOUT: A player that is poised to drastically outperform their price, whatever it may be
- BUST: A medium-to-high priced player that will fail to return value on their price
It feels weird to recommend a player that I fully expect to lose two games; however, Licorice just proved last week that he could thrive in a 1-2 week. He even scored 17+ in the lane with Alphari, which seems like an impossible task for anybody right now.
If you are going to face a team you will lose to; you might as well battle in-lane with their weakest player. That is the set up for Impact this week as he faces two easy wins (IMT & DIG) and a date with Fudge of C9.
Even though Cloud9 is in great shape to go 3-0 this week, Fudge will struggle hard along the way. In a single weekend, he has to go against 3 of the 4 best Tops in NA (Impact, Ssumday, and Licorice). Ouch.
Remember back in the LCS Lock In when Iconic lead the whole tournament in KDA? While that seems like years ago, we have seen some of that success translate to the regular season already. He only died 2 times across GG’s 2 losses, scored 10+ in all 3 games, and has a week of winnable games.
This is a “schedule” play right here. It hurts to see Team Liquid on the schedule for Spica, but it makes it a lot easier to swallow when you see GG and IMT on each side of the TL sandwich.
It is hard to gauge how strong this CLG team truly is, but one thing I can say for certain. Griffin will not have another week in which he loses all 3 games but still scores 70+ points.
This is the dude that just went 2/0/7 in a WIN over Team Liquid. Now he gets to downgrade from having TL & C9 on the schedule to having EG & TSM as the hardest games. Still challenging, but more winnable.
We aren’t used to seeing POE start this slow, but this team as a whole is still very much a work in progress. However, matches against GG and IMT on the same weekend should help to speed up success.
Wow, what a massively disappointing weekend. The loss was rough, but I’m more disturbed by the lack of production in the wins. I am afraid Jensen is falling into his ‘safety with no upside’ fantasy role he had in 2020.
Golden Guardians will never have a ‘definite win’ game on their schedule. However, their schedule for this weekend is full of 3 games that are definitely winnable for them. Stixxay is their fearless leader and the one who will benefit the most from an upset.
He was lost, but now he is found (but he is still Lost). I was very encouraged by 2 main stats from Lost. First, I was happy to see him with 2 different games of 5+ Kills. Secondly, I was very encouraged by his KP as he is 2nd in the LCS in the stat up at 82%.
Veteran players may not have the shine of the breakouts, but they get the job done. Supports need wins to succeed, and DIG is in a surprisingly good position to steal a couple this weekend.
Being able to grow under the wing of veteran Stixxay, Newbie is set up for success this week more than he ever has before. Let’s hope he can seize the moment.
Zven/Vulcan and Tactical/CoreJJ in the same weekend?? Rough. And you know Vulcan and CoreJJ want to cement their spot as the only two members allowed in the LCS Top-Tier Supports Club.
Wtf the team that beat TL is the cheapest at the position? Why would the best team in the league be last? This must be a mistake. Please tag @e1staff on Discord to report this (or @JonnytheAussie).
You don’t have to be the best team in the LCS to be a fantasy hero. You just need to be better than most of the teams you are facing that weekend, and it is an easy case to say that DIG is better than 2 of their opponents this weekend (IMT & GG).
Honestly, it is more likely that this team goes 0-3 this week than 3-0. 100T should feel blessed to have avoided a Week 1 loss as 2 of their wins came with them failing to have more Kills than the opponent. Better days ahead.
