Whether you are playing to win the F2P Cup, 1v1 Challenge, or taking on a Squad Battle, we all are after the W. We may even make some money on the way. So let’s take a look and see which players should be in your quarantine bubble and which players you should socially distance from this week.
- SLEEPER: A medium-to-low priced player that is set up well to shock the world (in a good way)
- BREAKOUT: A player that is poised to drastically outperform their price, whatever it may be
- BUST: A medium-to-high priced player that will fail to return value on their price
If prices were based strictly on talent, Licorice might be the 3rd most expensive option. However, due to an uncertain team context, he is 7th. Not a bad idea to put your money into talent.
The same people who flamed Huni after his Lock In Group Stage performance will be the same people screaming about his 1v9 upside for only $220k. You might as well join the party.
If you stopped watching Lock In after the Group Stage, you would think that Impact should be the #1 Top Laner on the slate. But the EG hype train came to a screeching halt after the 1st weekend. You have some VoDs to catch up on.
Crazy enough, Dardoch is the only Jungler in the LCS that can be expected to lead his team in Kills. Even though the team totals may not be high, Kills will still get you twice as many points as somebody else’s Assists—quality over quantity here.
The 2021 Breakout player got off to a slow start in the Lock In tourney, but visas are to blame for that. Now that FLY is full strength with some practice under their belt, Josedeodo can show why he was one of the most hyped additions to the LCS.
Don’t lump Insanity in with all the rookies or new unhyped faces on GG, IMT & DIG. Insanity proved that he belongs in the LCS back in 2020 and should be expected to only improve on that success.
Clearly, TSM won’t be winning games from their Bot Lane, so more pressure will fall on POE to carry. Luckily he has found success in this position before, a position that brings many fantasy points along with it.
The Notorious POB heads to the even more notorious BENCH. Unfortunate to hear that news from a random podcast interview, but at least we now know!
In Lock In, Lost looked… ah what’s the word I’m looking for..? Missing? Not knowing where he was? It was a poor performance, but the price is right here to turn a serious profit at the most difficult position to do so.
Like CLG isn’t going to win the LCS, but damn are people sleeping on them! WildTurtle lead the entire LCS in fantasy scoring just a season ago and is clearly the leader of this CLG team that is looking to win right away.
We may get the breakout still in 2021, but it will get off to a very slow start as Johnsun faces 3 Bot Lanes that are very stingy with giving up Kills.
This is the biggest risk-reward play on the slate. We honestly have no idea what Immortals actually looks like as a team. If the brand new OCE Bot Lane duo can work, this will be the only time you will see Destiny as the cheapest Support on the slate. Usually, you can not find the upside in the pool’s most inexpensive player.
Any other time that Ignar was on a powerful team, he was the 1st or 2nd most expensive option at the position. Now he is out to prove that he doesn’t need to be favored in every game to top the scoring charts still.
He will come around this year, but don’t expect him to go from “omg another TSM Support import bust” to “oh yeah, this guy was like MVP at Worlds” within a week.
We have no idea what the real Immortals looks like on the rift. They could be anything! It could even be a boat! Okay, maybe not that good, but they can be good enough to win vs. GG and then take a few objectives against each of TL & C9.
If we go off what we have seen with this still relatively unknown team, we have seen them be better than EG & IMT but worse than TL. If that keeps up this week and adds TSM to the list of teams they are better than, you will get a 2 win team for under $250k.
Looking back on it all, everybody really just threw EG into the “LCS Elite Tier” just because they beat C9 when they were trolling in their Lock In debut. We saw the real EG in the 3-0 sweep at the hands of TL.
