If you haven’t noticed yet, we are just the nicest people in the world. If you set a lineup each week, we officially love you. Not only are we helping tell you who to pick, but we also want to give you the next level analysis on how to get those perfect Champion picks for your Captain! That 50% bonus can be the difference between winning it all and applauding from the stands. So let’s break down what the best picks are by each position.
If you are a hardcore player and want to do a deeper dive, we provide the current ‘Captain Role Meta,’ which talks through each role’s viability for a Captain pick.
5 Best Captain Options
1. C9 Zven: Kalista & Ezreal
The Perfect Captain: Last week, Zven started his Summer Playoffs tour off with 4 straight games on Ezreal and ended with 2 on Kalista. Also in that week, he scored over 130 (!!!) points! No other player was even within 20 points of him. Now he gets an in-lane date with TSM Doublelift, who was just saying how relieved he is to go against an easier matchup in Zven… What more motivation could he need? Oh yeah, a trip to Worlds on the line too.
2. G2 Perkz: Senna & Kalista
Okay, let’s try this again but with different Champions. After being King last week, Perkz is knocked down a peg as he threw everybody for a loop by prioritizing Senna. Always be careful with Perkz bringing out something spicy, especially when facing off against FNC Rekkles in-lane.
3. MAD Shadow: Hecarim & Lillia
Shadow is the best Lillia player in the West, and there is nothing you can say to dispute that. He absolutely carried MAD Lions last week as that seemed like the new game plan for the struggling squad.
4. S04 Neon: Senna & Ezreal
Throw some respect on the name! Neon seems to be the overlooked player of the S04 Miracle Run, but he deserves a lot of credit! And if he is in your lineup, he deserves a crown on his head as he makes for an easy Captain, playing Senna in all 3 of his playoff games.
5. C9 Blaber: Graves & Lee Sin
Don’t look now, but Blaber is back. Fresh off a series that featured 2 games of 40+ points for the Spring MVP, Blaber is looking to keep that heat coming against TSM. Blaber vs TSM Spica doesn’t seem fair… Graves & Lee Sin accounts for 5 of his 7 playoff games and all of his games against EG.
Deeper Dive - Captain Role Meta
We will never completely get away from the Ornn’s, Gangplank’s, and Renekton’s, but it seems that Mordekaiser and Shen are the hot commodities right now.
Welcome to the party, Lillia! The majestic deer pranced into the Jungler meta, and thanks to Shadow, it looks like a feared pick. I don’t expect everybody to be able to play the new Champ, and still expect to see lots of Graves, Lee Sin, Volibear (LCS), Hecarim (LEC) and Sett.
It is so hard to predict Mid Laner Champion picks in the playoffs. We have already seen Lucian, Swain, Malzahar, and Ziggs get play this playoffs, with the craziest still yet to come. With counter-picking Mid becoming all the rage, it is a difficult spot to Captain.
Senna is back! But don’t worry, she isn’t fasting anymore! It was wild to see how much teams prioritized Senna. What was once a wild and dynamic pool, seems to have settled on Senna, Kalista, Caitlyn and Ezreal.
Bard is cool!
